You're Invited!  The Palmetto Fiber Arts Guild meets at

2:00 PM on the 3rd Saturday of the month at The Meeting Place in North Charleston. 

Please join others interested in a wide range of fiber arts for a short business meeting, an interesting program, show and tell, and refreshments .

RAG RUGS

Member Sandy Hutchinson will share techniques and tips for weaving rag rugs she learned mostly from trial and error and the school of hard knocks.

Catherine Anne Walsh will show us how to make belts and straps on the inkle loom.

MAY MEETING 

Michaela pulls handspun yarn from a bath of indigo dye at Middleton Plantation's Sheep and Wool Festival in April.  At our May guild meeting, she took a more modern approach to the subject.

MESSING AROUND WITH DYES

 

Guild members prepare wool for applications of readily accessible and easily prepared commercial dyes.

EMBROIDERY HOOP WEAVING

Our own Catherine Anne Walsh taught some easy and fun weaving techniques using an embroidery hoop as the loom. 

 

In April, Palmetto Fiber Arts Guild demonstrated spinning, dying and weaving at the Sheep and Wool Festival at Middleton Plantation. Here, Paula Ashworth from Brevard NC spins.
